El iPhone
Dev Team ha publicado una nueva versión de
Redsn0w, en concreto la
0.9.6b4, que permite hacer el
Jailbreak a cualquier iPhone con iOS 4.2.1, utilizando el mismo exploit que GeoHot utiliza en Limera1n. Este exploit utiliza un fallo de la bootrom, lo que quiere decir que hasta que Apple no actualice el hardware de los nuevos iPhone, se podrá hacer el Jailbreak (en esta ocasión, no es tan fácil como corregir un bug de iOS, así que hasta que Apple saque una nueva bootrom en sus iPhone 4 o saque un nuevo iPhone 5, tendremos Jailbreak ‘tranquilamente’).
Este Jailbreak funciona para los siguientes modelos :
* iPhone 3G – unthetered;
* iPhone 3Gs viejo iBoot – unthetered;
* iPhone 3Gs nuevo iBoot – tethered;
* iPhone 4 – tethered;
* iPod Touch 2G modelo MC – tethered;
* iPod Touch 2G modelo MB – unthetered;
* iPod Touch 3G – tethered;
* iPod touch 4G – tethered.
* iPad – tethered.
